Automotive Historians Australia kindly invite submissions for papers for their fourth conference, titled ‘The Joy of Motoring’

We would like to make it clear that for the 2019 conference, we welcome both formal academic papers and less formal presentations, in any format which reflect generally on motoring and automotive culture. We particularly seek contributions that derive from the experience of owning, racing, designing, restoring or building an automobile (or motorcycle), experiences that often rely on tacit knowledge accrued over a long period of time which remains hidden and is never recorded.

Important dates to note are as follows:

Abstract deadline (New date) Friday 29 March 2019

Submission of full paper for academic review (New date for academics) Friday 28 July 2019

Submission of all final papers and presentations for publication (New date) Friday 30 August 2019

The conference will be hosted by RMIT School of Design and RMIT Design Archives, in Melbourne on 18-20 October 2019

More details will follow in early 2019 from co-conveners Harriet Edquist and Simon Lockrey
